Puppy Jump Start Program
Ages: 8 weeks to 6 months
Structure: 4 weekly sessions, then 3 monthly support sessions
Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. The Puppy Jump Start Program is designed to give new puppy owners clear, practical guidance during the most important early stages of development.
This program includes 4 weekly in-home training sessions, followed by 3 monthly check-in sessions until your puppy reaches approximately 6 months of age. The goal is to build strong foundations early, prevent common behaviour issues from becoming habits, and help your puppy grow into a confident, well-mannered family dog.

What the Program Covers
Toilet Training
We help you set up a realistic toilet training routine that suits your home, your schedule, and your puppy’s age. The aim is to make toilet training clearer, calmer, and more consistent for both you and your puppy.
Crate Training and Settling
Crate training can be a valuable tool when introduced correctly. We focus on helping your puppy see the crate as a safe, calm, and positive space. The goal is not just to “put the puppy in a crate”, but to teach your puppy how to relax and feel secure.
Biting, Mouthing and Puppy Nipping
Puppy biting is normal, but it still needs to be managed properly. We help you understand why your puppy is biting and how to reduce it without creating fear or confusion. The focus is on giving your puppy clear guidance while still allowing them to learn and explore appropriately.
Basic Obedience Foundations
Your puppy will begin learning the basic skills they need for everyday life. These are taught in a practical, age-appropriate way.
This may include name recognition, sit, drop/down, come when called, loose lead foundations, place/bed training, leave it, basic impulse control, focus and engagement with the handler
Rather than just teaching “tricks”, we show you how to use these skills in real-life situations around the home and out in the community.
Confidence Building and Social Development
Early confidence-building is one of the most important parts of puppy training. We help expose your puppy to the world in a safe, controlled, and positive way. The aim is to develop a puppy who can cope with the world, not just a puppy who has “met lots of things”.
Handling, Grooming and Vet Visit Preparation
Many adult dogs struggle with grooming, vet checks, nail trims, ear checks, and general handling because they were not prepared properly as puppies. We help your puppy build positive associations with being handled. This is especially helpful for breeds that will require regular grooming or ongoing body handling throughout their life.
Household Manners
A big part of puppy training is helping your puppy understand how to live calmly inside the home.
This may include reducing jumping up, teaching calm greetings, preventing food stealing and bench surfing, managing chewing, teaching appropriate play, settling during family time, reducing demand barking, creating structure around sleep, feeding, play, and training, helping your puppy learn boundaries in the home
The focus is on building a puppy who can be part of everyday family life without chaos.
